Behind The Scenes: Makeover by Vasanti Artist Misha Miranda

Vasanti Makeover

Misha Miranda (seen in the pic above making over a gorgeous model) is one of our talented Vasanti Makeup Artists.  We asked Misha to create the look above using some of her favourite Vasanti products and to share with us how she got into the industry.

Why did you become a makeup artist?

From a young age I always wanted to pursue the opportunity to be a Makeup Artist because I always loved wearing makeup and playing around with different shadows and lip colors.  In 2012, I finally decided to pursue my dream and became certified as a Makeup Artist from the School of Professional Makeup as a Makeup Artist.  I started working with Vasanti Cosmetics in June 2012 because I absolutely love the products!!

What are you favourite Vasanti products?

I love them all but if I had to choose my top 3 products they would be V3 Liquid Cover Up, Denmark Lipstick and Brazilian Bronzer.

Can you tell us about the look you created on your model and what products were used?

The look I created is sexy and smoky,  perfect for a night out.  I first primed the skin around the eye with Eye Wonder Eye Cream to keep the eye area really moist and hydrated.  My model Kirtina has really gorgeous skin so I just used some Liquid Cover Up in V3 where she needed a little coverage and evened out her skin with Face Base powder in V4. I love to use Brazilian Bronzer as a contour shade, so I did some contouring under the cheek bones and then used Andes Blush, an apricot shade, just on the apples of the cheeks.  For the eyes I used Statue Of Liberty Eyeshadow Duo - I used the Topaz shade on the lid and blended the Emerald shade into the crease.  I lined the top and bottom waterline with Kajal Extreme Eyeliner and then blended the Emerald shadow shade along the bottom lash line. Lashes were curled and given two coats of lengthening mascara.  For the lips I used Sweden Lipstick which is a pinky nude shade and then added some shimmer with Bali Lip Gloss.

Top Winter Tip For Paler Complexions

It can be a challenge to brighten dull winter complexions especially if you are on the pale side.  Cream blushes are great in the winter because they can easily be applied with your fingers and melt right into your skin giving translucent coverage.  We like to put cream blushes just below the point of  our cheekbone, blending slightly down towards the jaw and out towards the hairline.  Stick with pink and red tones that would mimic how your skin would naturally flush if you went for a brisk walk in the cold.  We've got brand new Luminous Cream Blushes that are completely "mistake proof" -  try Pinnacle – a bright fresh pink or The Peak - a rich plum for a fresh and natural look.

One Smart Trick To Make Yourself Glow

We're huge fans of cream luminizers, the truth is that luminizers are one of the best multi-use products around, and can transform a dull, tired looking face into a gorgeously fresh, lustrous one in seconds.  They work by reflecting natural light where applied, giving the face an almost ethereal glow.  Glacier, our new Luminous Cream Blush is an ideal highlighting shade that works on all skin tones. Apply this creamy formula to the sides and top of your forehead, the upper part of the cheekbones, brown bones and bridge of the nose.  Play with applying it to different parts of the face to see what is most flattering to your face shape.  This is a simple trick that gives you great glow in no time flat.
