Get The Supermodel Look For Less: Kate Moss Style

Get The Look Kate Moss

If we had to pick one celebrity style icon it would definitely be supermodel Kate Moss.  She's survived 25 years in fashion, probably because she's so good at reinventing herself. Not only is she a supermodel, she's a mom, a designer, a philanthropist and subject of a new book Kate: The Kate Moss Book.  She's a goddess in Galliano one minute and a super cool rocker chic in jeans and a blazer the next.  We really love the look above, it's Kate out and about in London earlier this week in a herringbone blazer and paint splattered jeans.  It's been our mission to put together this look for less so we can rock it Kate Moss style.

Get The Look – Colourful Smokey Eye

When we think of a smokey eye we traditionally think of working with dark, neutral eyeshadows like blacks, greys and browns and while we do love the traditional, we also love experimenting with colour.  In this edition of "Get The Look" we're going to outline the steps in creating a  colourful smokey eye like in the pic above.

Get The Look: Fall Foliage Inspired

It's amazing how fast the seasons change, the leaves outside our office window are starting to burst into autumn tones.  Gorgeous nature shades have always inspired us and definitely inspire the makeup looks that we put together.  Here's our fall foliage inspired look:

  • Eye Shadow: Statue of Liberty is a rich, metallic eye shadow duo that really plays on fall colours.  With an eyeshadow brush, apply the topaz shade all over the lid up to the crease and in the inner corner of your eyes for highlight.  Use an angle brush to line the eyes with the emerald shade, line the top and bottom lash line.
  • Mascara: A true black mascara will help these shadow colour pop.  Brush on two coats of our Long Lash Mascara.
  • Blush: Brush Andes Blush along your cheekbones blending into the hair line.  Andes is an extremely wearable neutral apricot shade with just a hint of subtle shimmer.
  • Lipstick: A rich red brown lip finishes off this fall look.  India Ultra Luxe Lipstick is a gorgeous red-brown shade that reminds us of the colour of changing maple leaves.

Let nature inspire you and play around with some rich autumnal makeup shades!

Get The Look: Lipstick Mixologist

Fall makeup trends tend to be on the darker side, matching both the weather and what's on the runways.  To switch things up, try adding some brightness to your makeup by exchanging traditional neutrals for a bright, bold lip.  You can create your own custom lip shades by becoming a lipstick mixologist, try mixing different colours right on your lips to achieve a signature shade.  To get a deep pink lip like in the above pic, mix Denmark and Belarus Ultra Luxe Lipsticks, by layering one over the other. Play with the amount applied of each until you get the shade you want.

Keep the rest of the look fairly simple so as not to compete with your standout lips. Get a pink flush with Everest Blush applied on the apples of the cheeks.  Keep eyes neutral and shimmery with Moondust Shimmer Powder on the lids and bottom lash line and Arctic Shimmer Powder on the brow bone to highlight.
