Trend Alert: Spring Mint

Trend Spring 2013

Our colour choice for Spring 2013 is mint green, in fact we love any shade in this colour palette. The soft, delicate colour has a bit of playfulness about it which makes a great addition to a breezy spring day. We’ve selected some of our favourite style pieces in mint – so whether you are looking to make a statement or add a touch of colour to your look, we've got something for you.  We just can’t get enough of this fresh shade!

Tinted Lip BalmIf you're looking for a lip shade to pair with your spring mints, definitely try Tahiti Tinted Lip Balm ($15). This sheer pink shade contrasts perfectly with delicate mint hues and the conditioning formula will leave your lips soft and hydrated.

People’s Choice Award Trend Alert: Gilded Lids

When it comes to award season, everyone is going for the gold.  But a few stars from the People's Choice Awards decided to incorporate the colour into their makeup palette, too. Gold eye makeup and blue eyes complement each other perfectly, so Taylor Swift had the right idea when she swiped on an array of gold-flecked shades. Likewise, Allison Willliams from Girls wore warm gold shades as well.  We've rounded up our three favourite gold shadows to inspire you to try gilded lids.

Above from left to right:  Golden Temple Eye Shadow Duo pairs shimmery white gold with bronzed berry, a gorgeous look on warm skin tones.  Sand Dune Shimmer Powder looks especially stunning when paired with blue eyes.  Casablanca is a shimmery champage gold shadow suitable for a subtle sheen.

Trend Alert: Think Pink For Spring

It may be the middle of winter, but we are already thinking ahead to Spring 2013 and exploring some of the upcoming beauty trends that will be popping up along with the warmer weather.  One of our favourites is definitely the new way to wear pink seen at the Costello Tagliapietra show at New York Fashion Week.  This blush "halo" around the eyes combines edginess and femininity in a new way, it's a daring way to apply makeup, yet still looks soft and pretty.  To get this look we recommend Paris Silky Eyeshadow applied on the lids and then in a C shape from the outer edge of the eye and along the very top of the cheek bone and blend the edges really well to achieve the halo effect.
